How to Apply Lash Serum: 6 Steps for Consistent Nightly Use

6 Easy Steps To Apply Eyelash Serum Like a Pro

Applying a lash serum takes fifteen seconds when you do it right. Here is the routine we teach MD Lash Factor® customers.

Step 1 — Remove everything. Take off eye makeup completely and cleanse the lids. Serum belongs on skin, not on mascara residue. Contact-lens wearers: lenses out first.

Step 2 — Dry the lash line. Pat dry and give it a minute. Product applied to damp skin migrates — and migration, not the formula, causes most stinging complaints.

Step 3 — Load the wand lightly. Wipe excess against the bottle neck. A barely-wet applicator is correct; a dripping one is wasteful.

Step 4 — One stroke along the upper lash line. Start at the inner corner and draw outward along the base of the lashes, exactly like a fine liquid eyeliner. One pass per eye is the full dose. Skip the lower line — blinking transfers a trace amount naturally.

Step 5 — Let it dry. Two minutes before your pillow, night cream, or anything else touches the area. This is the most skipped step and the most important one for keeping product where you put it.

Step 6 — Repeat nightly and photograph monthly. Lash cycles run in months; the published MD Lash Factor® study measured its results at four weeks of nightly use (42–53% length increase across active groups vs. 20% placebo, n=34). A monthly photo in the same light is the honest way to track your own progress.

Safety notes: never apply inside the lid or into the eye; do not use on damaged or irritated skin, or while pregnant or nursing; if you are being treated for any eye condition, ask your physician first; stop if irritation persists. Prefer a formula without prostaglandin compounds? That is exactly what MD Lash Factor® Ultima is for. Study details: lash clinical evidence.
